2009 Tricky Tray Challenge
Every Table at our Tricky Tray was challenged to help homeless animals, they were given a cat that needed help finding a home. We asked everyone to: take the picture of the cat selected for their table and send it to friends, family, co-workers, post it on facebook or just twitter their cat. Help us get the word out that these cats need a forever home, be part of our rescue efforts. If someone from that table helps to adopt the seleccted cat, she or he will be eligible for a Special Rate at our 2010 Tricky Tray and recognition on the START website. They may also choose to sponsor their during the year, if he/she does not get adopted. Either way we will update you on the challenge's progress and all results will be at our 2010 Tricky Tray.

BAILEY ADOPTED
Bailey is a bundle of fun, he loves to play, play, play. When Bailey is not playing with one of his foster siblings or finding new adventures, you can find him lying in the sun. Bailey has favorite toys that he tote's around, as well as finding things he believes should be toys such as the milk carton top, twistie ties. This handsome boy is looking for his forever home and hoping to have a playmate or two. Bailey prefers to sleep in your bed, so if there is room come and see him! Bailey is good with older cats and there foster Mom has a dog, so he should adjust quickly to any environment. Bailey is altered, micropchipped and up to date on his vaccinations as well as FeLV/FIV tested negative.

FOREVER HOME NEEDED FOR BAXTER
This handsome little dude was found on a farm in western NJ with all his friends and siblings. Baxter is a real smoosh-face and just loves the company of other cats. He loves to hang out with you and can be very playful at times. Adjusting from outside on a farm to inside foster care went real well for Baxter. He realized that the luxuries of inside are much better than fending for himself. Baxter is most likely a maine-coon mix, with soft flowing hair that he loves brushed. Beverly, our beautiful dilute calico quiet and reserved!! Beverly has a wonderful personality she will play, play, play but loves to sit in her window!! FOREVER HOME NEEDED FOR BJ
BJ came to S.T.A.R.T. after being hit by a car, with a broken jaw and weeks of care and rehabilitation he became a real charmer. Now handsome boy is all 'good times', he is very playful and a happy spirit. His purr-fect fur-ever home would certainly have another cat with a playful personality. He loves to run around and romp with other felines. He is friendly, outgoing and gets along with cats and dogs. Kids are ok too. If you are looking for some fun in your life, consider our boy, BJ. My name is Darla, my sister Spanky got adopted a few months ago, she liked going to adoption and seeing all the people. I do not like adoption days, all the noise and the people trying to pet me that I don’t know, it’s very scary for me!!! But just because am scared does not mean that I am not a wonderful kitty at home! As you can see from my picture I am a beautiful young girl. Harpo is a beautiful black boy with a small white star on my chest! A perfect lap cat, he will keep you happy and entertained all day! An ear infection which needed medical attention caused him to have a floppy -bent ear which is really very cute and adds a certain character to his already great personality! FOREVER HOME NEEDED for DONNY & RAFI
Donny & Rafi ~ Pictured is Donny! Rafi is our camera shy identical twin. Donny is big ...but not as big as his brother, Rafi. He and his brother have been together since birth. Separating them now would be horrible. They do everything together and almost look like twins! Donny is an affectionate big mush and it is our hope that a loving family will want these two big boys together. We just can't bear to separate them. Fiona is my name, yes as in Princess Fiona!! I was found by a nice lady in the back of a local Burger King when I was just 4 weeks old and originally called Burger Queen (not funny!) I have grown up to be a beautiful lady, sweet and friendly and love to play with my foster brothers. I purr when you pet or hold me but I like to lie on your feet and I will play with your shoes when you take them off. I enjoy taking naps by the window or on my foster mom’s bed. Hocus n Pocus a magical team, though they can be separated they are quit funny together!! Hocus will run around and investigating everything! No flies in the house please he will stop a nothing to catch them, no flying objects for this cat! Pocus on the other hand loves to hang out and watch TV or maybe some window watching!! Poor Lulu...she was left by her previous owner in a carrier in 7 degree weather behind a convenience store. What kind of convenience was that??? Or better yet, what kind of an Inconvenience was poor Lulu? We can't figure that out either. She's a sweet girl, preferring the company of humans to other cats, but will tolerate them if need be. She's a real chatty girl, too, and anxious to share all her stories with you. She is affectionate when she wants YOU! Lulu is about 4 years old. Maddie came to us when she was about 4 months old from an overcrowded home. Her perfect day is sunbathing in her favorite window for hours. Then a little run around the house with some of her friends, a bite to eat than back to the window. Maddie does like cat company so if you do not already have a cat, you may consider taking a friend of Maddie’s too! Maddie gets along with all the foster cats and the dog. Hi my name is Mandy and I am a very sweet 6 month old medium to long hair grey tiger girl with a beautiful bushy tail!. Unfortunately my sad story is all too common. Someone moved and left me behind outside their condo. Thank goodness some kind neighbors found me and I am now in foster care. My foster mom thinks I am great! Poor Maxwell was found by a caring woman when he walked into her yard. He was hungry, lost and lonely. The woman took him inside and cared for him as long as she could, but then had to give him to us so we could find him a great forever home. Maxwell is a very calm, laid back sort of boy. He gets along with other cats, dogs and children. He would love to spend his days sleeping comfortably in the middle of your big bed and cuddled up tightly against your back at night. Maxwell is a real cuddlier and prefers your lap to any armchair! He will hang out on your windowsill, gets adventurous with new things and is especially curious when food is present! He has a kind of strange behavior in that he is extremely curious about what you are eating. He will try anything from your plate once! Scooby is my name and I turned 1 year old on May 3rd!! My first Mom had to give me up because we had no place to live and she could no longer to take care of me. I am very playful, I love to play with other cats but can also entertain myself. I especially love watching the local wildlife - birds, squirrels, rabbits, chipmunks. I enjoy a nice nap lounging in front of the window and at night I sleep with my foster Mom and fellow cat Harley in the big bed! I know Milk is not good for kitties like me but I do enjoy a few laps of milk left over at the bottom of a cereal bowl, I will be right there to help with the clean up. I am a young active boy, but sometimes if I like to snuggle on Mom's lap with my head just under her chin and watch TV. I can not remember if I like dogs but I am not against trying! Shanna is a beautiful dark Calico. Shanna is young, sweet, and loves to play with her other foster friends. Shanna would be ok as an only cat but would need sometime to adjust. Shanna may be a little shy at first but is happy to hang out and play a little if you have the time. If you know the Calico personality they can be a little reserved and kind of hang back sometimes. Shanna can be reserved but never misses a chance to run around with the rest of them. Shanna loves her night time snacks and loves to snuggle before you go to sleep at night. Velvet is our very special and brave kitty. She was just about 1 year old when she was found with 4 babies. The caretaker noticed that her left front paw was missing. That did not stop her from being a wonderful mom and all of her babies found their forever homes. Not to worry, our veterinarian did not recommend any further surgery as she uses her leg just fine. This little girl has really blossomed in our care! Velvet is great with kids and other cats, she may be a little nervous around dogs. Velvet warms up quickly, to anyone that shows her affection. She really enjoys being rubbed and pet all over! It’s time for Velvet to settle in with a family she can call her own! She is just as happy with her feline friends and is gentle and quiet making a wonderful addition to any family.

“Venus” this beautiful, loving tortie was left in our possession along with her 3 babies. She raised her babies and all have found wonderful forever homes. Now it is Venus’ turn to fine her forever home and looks forward to starting her new life. Venus is a sweet loveable, playful little girl good with kids and happy to hangout with the family. She will be fine in a home by herself with some to soil her or with other cats. FOREVER HOME NEEDED ~ MEG
Meggy, from Russia with love! Yes, this big plus size senior tabby girl was surrendered by an elderly Russian gentleman. Meggy’s Mom passed away a few years earlier and Dad really tried to hold on to Meggy. He fed her well as you can see, and Meggy kept him company as long as she could. Dad recently had to give up his beloved Meggy, he was going into a nursing home and could no longer care for her. Meggy is used to being the only cat, pampered and fed, she is however getting used to her foster cat companions. She is also learning to speak English, she did have a few challenges! Willy, a sweet grey and white female, abandon with an injured eye and skin infection. Though Willy has spent many weeks in the hospital recuperating from eye surgery, she is finally ready to look for a forever home. Willy is very affectionate and loves any attention you can spare.
